If we look at our situation now in Germany and compare it to the Italiens or the Americans, even the Chinese, we can see the amount of opportunities and luck that we have.
For example the Italiens are all locked up in their little apartments and don’t even have the chance to put a foot out of their door. I don’t want to imagine living in such a small space without getting any fresh air. Everything they don’t have is what we have. We can go out, we can go ride our bikes or even walk along the water. Of course we must hold our distance but that is very minimal to what they have to do.
Or like the Americans, they are forbidden to go out as well. They are only allowed to go out once a week to get some food for the entire week and maybe get their mail.
But if you look closer, you can see how all these countries are very strict but they are all disciplined. What about us ? We have so much freedom, we may as well not follow the rules. Just because the young generation is not affected by this virus like the older generation ,doesn’t mean we can do whatever we want. Everyday I see these young teens thinking they are cool and they can do whatever they want. Yeah sure, but what about your family, especially your grandparents? Do they mean anything to them? They may be older and not as fresh as we are but they are also human beings. They have the same right to live like us teens , especially that they don’t have much time left.
But why are they not taking this matter seriously? Well because they are probably not well informed or because teachers say that because we are young we don’t need to worry . But we are still able to transmit this virus without even knowing. Adults informed their students/kids too lightly. Of course we don’t want to create a panic situation, but these types of things need to be taken more seriously. I as a student becoming an adult had taken this matter at first way too lightly. I didn’t care about any of things and thought it wouldn’t be a problem getting the virus, because then after I would be immune to this world pandemic. But as a future opera singer I am not ready to have any breathing problems or anything else getting destroyed in my body. It doesn’t mean by not becoming a singer you can go out, but what i am trying to say is that even by catching this virus it can cause extreme damage to your body and health. Of course there will always be the lucky ones that don’t get anything at the end, but it is better to think about yourself and to bring yourself to safety than being one of the unlucky ones….Better to be safe than sorry…..
